As the poet Robert Frost once said, “Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.” For poets, the act of putting pen to paper can result in the baring of a soul. It can result in a mix of joy, anger, excitement, or any other emotion you feel in the moment. Poems can be silly and make little sense in the first reading. Poetry is a venerable form of writing when it comes to academics and researching the poets of old. Though poems are often shorter than traditional methods of storytelling, even poetry can give us the epic of the Iliad. This blog will be dedicated to the discovery of poetry, both technical and otherwise, to help online artists understand the history and art of penning the perfect poem. Discussions will range from villanelles to the infamous iambic pentameter …and all the good stuff in between.
